A poem by Mrs. Pauline Patricia Payne. Her dedication to the Rotterdam and a reflection on many pleasant memories.
Rotterdam V
Where do you go to my lovely?
Where have you been in this world?
Where will the stars now direct you,
Now that your flags are all furled?
Come let us rejoice to have known you,
And remember the joy of your years.
We unite in our thousands to give you
All our hearts and our smiles, never tears.
As the sun sets over your funnels,
And your silhouette fades from our view,
Let us welcome your regal successor,
Farewell to the old, and rejoice in the new.
